Usb microphones better?

Go to solution Solved by Moist_Sock,

Depends on your budget, useage, and what equipment you already have.

For entry level gear, they're excellent. They're designed to run off USB, so power issues are rarely an issue, and you don't need an interface or phantom power. This means they're easy to set up, and require no other costs other than the microphone itself, and some type of boom/arm, depending on your usage.

For mid to pro level stuff, they just don't perform as well, and/or aren't as compatible with mixers and other audio gear.

Highest I'd go on USB is something like an AT-2020, past that you should make the leap to a cheap interface and proper studio mic.

Don't tread on me. I squish, and white liquid comes out. It's icky, trust me.
