Display subtopic? Nope, not talking about display devices. I know what to do with it. Getting a Samsung 1080p Smart TV so I am set on that part. Also have a monitor

Network? Nope. Off Topic? But this is tech related. Kind of?

So I just need free TV. I know it would not be technically free. I still need to buy something. A some sort of TV box. I have heard of some Chromecast or some Android box with pre loaded stuff but that's not what I want.

I want TV channels to watch. I don't want to pay monthly fees but again buying myself a huge antenna that costs almost the same as the TV kinda not what I want

Any actually. I just want something to watch. Yes I have a 1080p TV so it better be at least HD for me. Color preferred too. B/W is kinda old

So

TL;DR need TV channels that don't have to pay monthly. One time fee.

If I understand you right, you want a free television solution? Just pick up one of those cheap "Clear TV" antennas. I bought one for $15 the other day and it works decently enought to where I would watch it regularly, although you'll only get local channels.

Local channel is fine for me. Are those kind of antenna where you have to tilt and adjust for perfect angle till you can get perfect signals?

No. It's just a flat piece of plastic, a little bit larger than the side of a PSU. I just stuck it on a window and it worked fine. There were some slight reception issues at moments, but only for a second or two, and that's because I have both a lot of trees behind my house and a lot of computer cases right nearby, along with WiFi crowding. But other than that it works great!

Toronto is the best place to get free TV.  The CN Tower?  No joke, it's not just a tourist attraction, it's a gigantic broadcasting tower which is broadcasting multiple local channels from it's array of antennas.  If your antenna is high enough and of suitable design, you could also get channels from New York state across the lake.

This entire white 'donut' around the SkyPod on the CN Tower is just an inflated tent like thing that protects a huge array of communications antennas from the elements.  Television, radio, police communications, microwave communications links, the works.

I get six channels with an antenna mostly made of cardboard.  (I only use it to get the Santa Claus Parade)

CN tower is a tourist attraction where they charge 50 bucks or something to get up there

Yes, I said that... And it's also a communications tower.  Part (just part) of the motive for it's construction was to tower over the rising Toronto city scape and provided point to point microwave communication connections that were starting to be obscured by the sky scrapers being erected around the city in the 1960s.

History is a wonderful thing. :)
