$2000 USD setup recommendations

Planning my first build with tax returns. Would like to stay below $2000 USD. I need a monitor (just one, would like to do 1440 if possible) and keyboard which will need to be in the budget also. I already have a Steelseries Rival mouse. I'm at work and will respond to any questions when I get the chance. Thanks in advance.

Best of the best, black and white setup with RGB keyboard. Feel free to swap the KB for one with your favorite switch type, if you have one. Also, a 75Hz 1440p monitor, for slightly higher refresh rate for increased smoothness with that 1080

To save a bit:

1070 instead of 1080

G2 550W instead of 650W if you have no upgrade plans

IDK about in Canada but in the US a lot of people get their tax returns and use them to buy things they ordinarily wouldn't have spare cash for. I think he meant that is the money he is using. If tax needs to be included then drop to a 1070 and we good

You're right shiv, not too worried about taxes, this is with the returns. 

 

You guys are giving me good ideas on how to use the budget. I'm liking sqeezing the 1080 in there. I would like G-Sync if possible, but if not I could live without if since I've never used a monitor with it anyway.

To squeeze in a G-sync monitor, you'd need around $500 for the cheapest 1440p, which is a 24". I'd rather have a 1080 with a 75Hz 1440p instead of G-Sync with a 1070 at 60Hz. You might even be able to OC that display up to 90-100Hz
