Hey there! Here is my current rig https://pcpartpicker.com/list/R6ykWX . I am having trouble getting my microphone to work that is on my Hyper X Cloud 1.  I have tried using the mic jack on the front panel of my case as well as the one in the back from the mobo. It is recognizing that there is something plugged in but will not pick up any sound. This headset has worked perfectly up until the day I upgraded to this rig so I assuming is has to do with the new pc. Any ideas of where to begin with trouble shooting would be awesome, thanks a bunch!

it is two separate, there isn't a combined input on my rig

Oh okay. Sometimes you get people who don't realise that combined jacks don't work in just the headphone jack.

Have you checked your audio drivers? Is the removable mic plugged in properly? Have you tested it on any other device?

Don't tread on me. I squish, and white liquid comes out. It's icky, trust me.

I have the right mic selected but still no sound, it recognizes sound when I put the plug in/out just not when I talk

I haven't tested it on two separate jacks because my lap top has a combined but it works there. Ill have to check for audio drivers probably - where would I look for that

You know the mic isn't faulty at least.

I meant to check what windows calls 'recording devices' or whatever, which it seems you've already done based on your other replies.

Have you checked that your levels on the mic aren't set to 0?

What are your mic level settings at?

Mic properties, levels. Might see boost underneath?

Turn on listen to mic if it isnt already. (In the listen tab)

@Roddy1891@Moist_Sock Its weird because I just was able to use a USB mic I have from work and it recognized audio from that. So it seems like the dedicated mic jacks on both the front and back of my case wont pick up any input. Could this be something in settings? A driver that needs updating? Faulty components in my pc?
