I am looking to simultaneously upgrade my system to DDR4 while downsizing to MicroATX because my HAF EVO XB case is so big lol

Here is a PCPP List Template of the parts/peripherals i'm trying to fit with the system. I already own everything except for the RAM https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KLYZ9W
Take this template, and add your recommended Mobo, CPU, CPU Cooler [if the H60 won't fit] and Case

I do have one requirement, I would like to use a desktop style case because they tend to offer more room and let me see the fan-side of the GFX card.

If there is no desktop style then a tower style is fine if it has a window large enough to see inside and see plenty of my light fx I want to have in the case with my NZXT HUE+

Also I would not mind too much if I had to move the Mechanical drives to an external storage array over eSATA [I have one i just never use it]

Looks nice, but you do NOT NEED A 1000W PSU. Serious overkill. Get a 650W one MAX, it will save you lots of money.

I hope you're getting skylake processor aswell  because you can't use DDR4 on an i5 4690k.

I'll be replacing the CPU and Board and case and potentially the drives..hence why I posted the PCPP template link

Right...The point is for others to take that template, and add in a recommended CPU and Case and Mobo :P

My bad just reread.

Any reason you're spending so much on the ram? I get it has lights but is it worth the extra $60 over ram that performs the same?

It matters because I was going to change the entire storage section because its a mess. But I won't because you already own them.

You have a point :P But like I mentioned I have no problem moving the mechanical drives externally.
The 1TB is my general storage, 2TB is games archive, small SSD is boot, larger SSD is games I'm playing

Its not the smallest case ever, but it has enough slots for all of your storage, a great side window and is just a beautiful case imo. Its a small case still so I think you could fit it anywhere a "desktop" case would fit.

Also, the memory is like 1/2 the price and will work better with a non-X99 system since its Dual channel

I like it. But I do have some questions.

Mainly, how do you know that the RAM I selected is not Dual Channel? I'm not up to snuff with my RAM knowledge so I'm asking purely to educate myself.

Also, not a question, but, I don't *love* that case..just seen it too often and I like to stand out from the crowd a bit..anything else you can suggest that I can fit 2 or 3+ SSDs and a 12+Inch GFX card?
