Password Lost

I recently purchased a password reset key featured in the Linus Tech Tips video below. It works fine an most computers, but when I tested it on my Windows 8 laptop, it removed the live account and replaced it with a seemingly identical local account. Now, it requires a different password and I can't get back in. I can't reset the new account password with the key, as it does not appear in the list of accounts. It was the only account on the computer. Thanks for any advice.
