No idea which monitor

DaDelvi

I'm gonna be using a 6600k with an evga gtx 1060. There may be a budget of about $200. I've just been doing a lot of research I'd want an ips and to keep fps high I'd want to keep it 1080 because if I go 4K fps may drop I've heard. I guess I'd want to keep it 60hz but 144hz are more expensive but I'd like to have that.  I love those ultra wide monitors but I can't afford that and speaking of price I can't fathom buying a monitor that's half as much as my PC. I have no idea. Can somebody point me on the right track?

Did you already build the PC? if not what's the budget/country?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I'm slowly building it now but configurations are done. I'm in the us so now I just will need a monitor.

So what do you already have? because it makes far more sense to get an RX 470/480 with a free-sync display if possible, and potentially an i7 6700 with a less expensive motherboard. Not mention the 470/480 being better for the money overall given the DX12/Vulkan future

There's an LG ultra-wide for $160 in any case

1080p 144hz TN free-sync displays used to be about $209, they're currently 250

if you can find it this 1080p 75hz IPS display

So I found these monitors, I'm going for light/casual gaming like I may play Skyrim when I can or games like Civilization IV, Sims 4, ya know smallish games I wouldn't want to feel a stutter or bit of lag playing.  I'll also be using the monitor for programs, nothing too extensive. I just want a monitor to look good aesthetically and look good too i.e.: colors, contrast. I'm honestly assuming 1080p 60hz would be fine for me. My budget ultimately isn't too far past $300 If I can keep it under $300 that would be great as It's just a monitor to me.  I don't know anymore, Ive been searching monitors like crazy the past month and it's insane.
