I'm planning to build my first computer. I hardly play games, but I'm eager to learn some light video editing using Premier Pro, and my sister uses Photoshop regularly. I have couple of questions.

These are based on this year's LTT holiday guide : Game On $1000. I live in South Korea, where components are way more expensive than US or Canada, and my target budget is W1,200,000(about $1023) before OS.

Q1. Are these components compatible?
1. CPU: Core i5 6500 (about $219)
2. RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2x8GB (Red Heatspreader, PC4-21300(2666Mhz), CL16) (about $117.83)
3. Motherboard: ASUS B150M-A/M.2 (about $89.51)
4. Power: Micronics Classic II ATX, 500W (about $38.79)
5. Cooling: Stock
6. Case: Mid-tower somewhere around $20-40
7. Vid Card: GeForce GTX 1060 3GB (below)
8. SSD: Crucial MX300 525GB (about $142.37)
9. HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3TB (SATA3, 64MB, 7200rpm) (about $101.45)
10. OS: Windows 10 Home / Pro .... Considering
11. Optical: LG DVD Writer (about $14.92)

Q2. Is stock cooling fan enough?
And is this cooling fan for the CPU?

Q3. Should I upgrade that 1060 3GB to 6GB? Is that worth it? Prices differ about $50 between those, at least in where i live.
These are the models that i'm considering.
Oh, and if you recommend the 3GB model, which is the better choice?

3GB: Zotac GTX1060 mini D5 3GB (single fan) (about $225.92)
MSI GTX1060 OC D5 3GB Windstorm (dual fan) (about $229.33)

6GB: MSI GTX1060 OC D5 6GB Windstorm (about $273.66)

Or do you have a better recommendation?

Thank you :)

Stock cooler is enough, but will be noticeably loud under load

Get the 1060 6gb if you can, due to its higher amount of cuda cores you will get more fps

Also that power supply seems dodgy, try and get something from evga, sesonic, corsair or any other reliable brand

Thanks. I'll get the 6GB instead. And I found Corsair CX600 at about $58.23. I'll go with that instead. Again, thanks a lot.

Yes, it's worth it, unless you can get a 480 for the same price as the 3GB. Maybe consider an EVGA model?

That PSU is bad and could damage your components. Get something like a CX450M

yes

Why people (including Linus, from the 'What video card to buy') seem to prefer EVGA over other brands? Reasons? Just curious.

And i found CX600 instead. That's also cool, right?
