By core useage overclock setting.

So one of the ways to set the multiplier is by core useage and it will say  1 coRe limit 2 core limit and so on.... my question is does this mean if ur only using one core it'll be this speed and 2 it will be the speed of the second ratio and so on? if so how does this work as usually there is some sorta load on all cores so for me it just stays at the 6 core ratio...

Depends on the load present. If only one core has a substantial amount of work to do, it'll ramp up to X. If two cores, X - 0.1 (for example). You can also set your overclocks per core, which Intel also shows the best core on your CPU for overclocking.

yes even if everything is at idle it reads the 6 core setting. same if i run single core cinabench it runs the 6 core setting. or atleast according to ai suite.

Your BIOS takes care of it. Can you try Aida64?

ohhhh cinabenchs single core actually changes between cores every few seconds and yea ill try that

Yeah nomatter what kind of load I apply it just stays at my 6 core limit. dosent even jump up for a second or anything.

Have you changed the BIOS settings? What CPU?

6850k yea in the bios I have values set for single core limit dual.... tri...quad and so on.

You have to be in the advanced overclocking mode. You'll find a drop-down menu for "per core" ratios. Is this where you are?

I was in extreme tweaker.... whare you chanfe ratios, clock speed  and so on......

Yea i set it as per core useage and it says stuff like first core setting must be higher or equal to the 2 core setting....and so on. but for me it will just run at the 6 core ratio and that's it

I'm not an expert on Asus boards. I would make a new thread in the "motherboards" subforum and hopefully someone who knows can help.

Motherboards subform? i thought this fourm section was for cpu board and memory... i did not know there was a further subfourm.
