Low FPS on BF1

Hello all, I'm currently playing BF1. I play on 1440p with the settings set to ultra to high.  While playing BF1, I notice a yellow flashing symbol on my monitor. I understand what the symbol means but I don't understand get how I'm getting low FPS.I also notice sometimes my screen stutters and lags.  I have a pretty high end system

 

My specs are as follows. I5 quad core at 3.50Ghz ,Ausus Strix 1070 OC edition, 16Gb of DDR3 memory, a 3 TB seagate Barracuda gaming hardrive. My monitor is a  Asus MG28U UHD 4K monitor. 4K at 60Hz. I don't play at 4k because the  GPU can't handle 4K with decent FPS, so I turned it down to 1440P. I use a HDMI 2.0 cable for the display. My FPS counter never goes below 60FPS at the settings listed. Yet I still encounter the problems I have listed.

 

Do I need a monitor with a faster refresh rate,one  with Gsync?Or do I turn the setting down lower. 

Any help would be much appreciated!

I thought that usually meant that you are having trouble connection with the server not fps issues.

Yeah I guess I've only seen the client warnings.

My monitor has something called Adaptive Sync. I'm seeing the symbol for low FPS. Does it have to do with my refresh rate, maybe my GPU puts out more then 60FPS and my monitor cant handle it?
