I'll try to keep this story fairly short. About a month or two ago Windows stopped working on my desktop. I'd try starting it up and repairing it but that wouldn't work and each time it was a new error message, and using a windows USB to repair it did nothing. I've had enough free time recently to try installing windows again. So I got an installer USB and tried to use that to install windows 10, didn't work, it said some files were missing and I got error message 0x80070570. At this point I figured my best option was to replace the HDD so I got a new SSD, tried installing on that and still got the error message. So I decided to try using the original installation disc with windows 8.1, and I got the exact same error message. I'm all out of ideas at this point and I'd be beyond grateful if anyone knows how to fix this.

computer specs if it helps

Asus Z87-PLUS motherboard

Intel i5-4690K processor

Nvidia 1070

24GB DDR3 RAM

And I was running the Windows 10 anniversary update before the computer stopped working.

EDIT: figured out the issue, it was my 4GB RAM sticks

format both the hdd and ssd with diskpart on another win-running pc and get yourself a new iso-file for windows 10 from microsoft https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/software-download/windows10

from this point i am not sure if you can somehow save the old key from your windows and reuse it or if you need to buy a new key. for the "transition time" i recommend to install linux ubuntu for free after you did the whole formatting with diskpart

am hungry

1.Download a new windows 10 Iso from microsoft website. https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/software-download/windows10

2.Make a bootable windows USB drive.

3.Run the installation like u usually do.

4.Before moving to the partitioning the hdd/ssd. hold shift and press F10. Cmd will be prompted.

5.Type DISKPART and enter

6.Wait for the process to finish. and then type list disk and enter

7.U should see ur disk in the list

8.If ur disk is disk 0 then type select disk 0 (with space) and enter

9.and type clean and enter

10.Wait for it to finish

11.after it finish then u can continue to partitioning your HDD and install the windows.

Let me know if its work/does not work.

Before doing that stuff I tried removing my graphics card to see if that would do anything, then it gave error 0x8007025D.

After that I tried what you suggested. I used the regular USB installer I've been using (don't know how to use USB with an ISO file). I did the diskpart stuff but couldn't move on so I had to turn the computer on and off(said there wasn't enough space) . Ran installation again (it now said the drive was unallocated space), and it crashed again, with error 0x8007025D.

Yes if the usb fails definitely try using the CD option.  If you got a burner go for that.  If not try to remake a windows 10 usb drive.  You can do it very easily if you already have a windows 10 machine loaded up.  (Once made a windows 7 bootable through cmd.   That was a nightmare xD)  Anyways hope you get it working.

tried running sfc /scannow, said it found a corrputed file and needed to restart to take effect. turned the computer on and off, ran installation and it still failed with the same error. this time after I clicked "ok" on the error message box my computer blue screened and said "Stop code: system service exception"
