Buying a laptop

Hello,

 

I'm looking for some advice on buying a decent laptop for my wife's work , for a holiday present. I would like to avoid big name brands like dell that come with a lot bloatware on the system. She mentioned a 2 in 1 but I don't know too much about them, mainly she needs it for entering paper work, maybe watching some movies on it when she's bored and of course browsing the web. I would like a budget of $500 if that's doable
