Wireless charging from a distance?

I know there are rumors that apple is going to implement wireless charging from a distance into the iPhone 8. Has this been done before? I thought the whole reason people didn't have wireless charging from a distance is because you would have to have like a Tesla coil to produce enough power to account for the loss of energy through air. Has this barrier been overcome?

Haven't heard a rumour like that for the iPhone 8.. Currently no, you can't do it from a distance. The phone has to be on the dock to be charging (see Samsung phones for how this works). Before Apple work out wireless charging from a distance, they need to first implement wireless charging into iPhones.

Take things like this with a pinch of salt, leaks can sometimes be true, but considering how recent the iPhone 7 is, take it with a pinch of salt. Tonnes of people out there make fake videos to just get views and money

Everything apple pro is pretty reliable. With the iPhone 7 he predicted almost all the features. Obviously not all of this will be true but it would be cool.

Yeah it would be cool to do it from a distance, the only problem is that it would require a lot of power to transmit it that far. Just don't be one of those people that clings onto every leak they see and then criticises Apple when its not put in

No I'm not one of them. I'm never going to buy an iPhone. They are too expensive. The most expensive phone I would ever get would be the one plus 2 or maybe the one plus 3

Good man  they just make too many wrong decisions with the iPhone, android all the way!
