So i have lately been going around thinking what to upgrade in my computer, it would be very helpful to get some guidance on what should be the preference, and what would be good to get in my case.

My current specs

8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz
MSI Z77A-G45 GAMING (MS-7752) (SOCKET 0)
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (MSI)

I would upgrade for CPU. Your gpu is still very good, and can probably last a while. Maybe upgrade to something like a 6600k or 6700k.

I strongly feel like you have this backwards. The CPU is more than adequate for anything you throw at it, especially if he overclocks it a little. A new GPU on the other hand like a 1060 or even 1050ti would provide much improvement in graphical quality.

Also as others said, an SSD and more ram wouldn't hurt.

When in doubt, re-format.

What kind of ram would u recommend me getting @pwn_intended

Literally any 8gb DDR3 stick as long as its the same voltage as your current stick. (1.5 is the standard but 1.65 does exist) So I would double check your ram voltage before ordering, either in your BIOS or just pull it out and it should be written on the module itself.

When in doubt, re-format.
