Trouble With my RAM

Hey Guys,

 

 Basically, my problem is I have is I have a single 8gb DDR4 card installed and it shows up as 8gb in BIOS, although when I boot up into Windows, it says there is only 2.9 GB available, and 5.1 is dedicated to hardware. I have done a memory check and it is fine, I have tried all my DIMM slots with no results.

Are you running 64 bit OS?

No, although shouldn't it still run up to 4 GB?

No its upto 4gb but anywhere for 2-4gb. You need a 64bit OS.

Thanks, I will upgrade to a 64-bit os when I next have a chance, and will see what happens.
