So im buying a new rig soon (saving up atm) and i wanted to see what i better an older i5 from the last generation or the newer ones?

Im not thinking on spending over 500 euros on the cpu/mobo/ram ( gtx 770, 750w psu in the system )

But i dont know whats the best bang for budget i do want to get all out performance but im on a budget..

was looking at the i5 6600k but thats a lot and i need a z170 mobo for that witch costs more..

cpu ipc hasnt increased that much over the last few gens, so a 4th gen or even a 3rd gen will probs still be fine if you can get it a lot cheaper. However, factor in the cost of older mobo (with less cool stuff on it) and ram, which can be more expensive than the new stuff.

If you make a post contradicting mine that doesn't directly address my claims, or cites 'facts' without evidence, I'm probably not going to bother responding to it, because you probably didn't bother reading my post properly, and because life is too short. It doesn't mean I don't have an answer for you. It means I'm not dignifying you with a response.
