Installing EATXPOWER cable

So right now I'm connecting my PSU cables to my motherboard, but when I'm installing the EATXPOWER cable (the MB labelled one on the PSU) I don't think I'm lining them up correctly, does the orientation I put it in matter?

Look for a little nub on the socket on your motherboard, the clip on the connector at the end of your cable will line up with that.

Almost forgot, my PSU didnt come with the 12VEATX cable, is it necessary? I have the 24-pin one connected.
