JDM license plates

So I am going to buy a Japanese license plate for Christmas. I want to make sure that it is real. Can someone clarify if I can import Japanese license plates abroad?

But the original poster got banned and some of the replies says otherwise. Also, no sources back this claim up, I have checked with the Japanese Government, the Ministry of Land Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism do not say so. EIther I did some shallow digging or the poster is incorrect. All of the things on my license plate are real. Nothing on my license plate points to it being fake. Now I ask, is the original poster incorrect?
