So I'm about to get a gtx 1070 and the one I was looking at is the g1 gaming from gigabyte. It has 3 display ports, one hdmi, and one dvi. I run 2 1080p monitors by acer. Apparently the monitors only have dvi and vga. I can't find the specific monitor but its similar to this one http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/UM.FG6AA.B01, except it's 24 inch, 60hz, and subtract the hdmi port.

Would I be able to use a display port to dvi? Would there be any performance difference? Would https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Gold-Plated-DisplayPort/dp/B004C9M7UG be good enough?

If you are running a 1080p 60Hz panel, there will be no difference whatsoever. DP is only required if you want to do 1440p 144Hz or 4K resolution.

Also because it's digital, there's practically no point in buying "high quality" cables if they travel less than 6 feet.

Thanks, I might look for a cheaper cable then. Seems like a dumb design considering the monitors are only 2-3 years old.

Yeah I have a monitor just like that, I'm adapting it from VGA to DP, works fine.
