Fake Matrix Infinity? (PS2)

liamedwards12

Okay, so a while back (years ago) i installed a "Matrix Infinity" modchip in my PS2 to play backups of games i own (I did this because so i don't ruin my originals over time) however i changed a setting on the Matrix infinity BIOS (So it will fast boot) and now the console will only boot my original games (I reverted said setting and no joy) which is not ideal for me as i don't want my original disk to be screwed up over time.

Now i googled it and there are some fake chips out there, i can't tell from what images i found of the modchip if mine is genuine or not, so i opened up my console and just grabbed a shot of it and if anyone with knowledge can ascertain whether or not i have a fake or genuine modchip i would appreciate it.

the fact that it worked originally shows that its most likely legit , but you screwed up the settings

I read that changing a setting on a fake chip can F##k it up (Wasn't aware of such issues when i tried this) i should also mention the modchip's bios still works but nothing else, i can't even flash it's firmware.

I hope, but first i want to work out if it's a *fake* or *real* chip first so i know what action to take, even if i can get the chip working again (fake or not) i would still be happy, if it is indeed a fake and i get it going again i just won't touch ANY settings or flash it.

EDIT: Quoted wrong post oops :D

Hi I know it's a little old but I just modded my ps2 with this model chip and all it will do is show the matrix logo  but I can  go into settings. Is this one a clone?
