CCleaner Drive Wipe

I am just cleaning up my USB sticks. I usually do a quick format, followed by a normal format. But I just did a single pass on the drive wipe tool from CCleaner. Then I did 3 passes waited until it finished, now I am on 7 passes. Should I be closing CCleaner, or even rebooting my computer, then doing the drive wipe?

What is on those drives that you care so much? A single windows format does the trick typically.

I have never done a drive wipe before, so the first one was quick, then I wanted to see how long it would take for the 7 pass.

Plus I thought its just a good "Pro Tip" to wipe it.

All drive wiping does is writes 0s or 1s to the entire drive. You don't need to do anything special to get the magic going.

I was thinking its like a chaulk board, you erase stuff and the board still has chaulk on it. But a drive wipe makes it sparkling clean.

Perhaps maybe improves performance to a 1000th of a nano second.
