for some reason my fallout 4 wont cooperate with me.. i used to play on high settings with 60+fps but now i cant play on medium settings without stuttering and stuff. i dont know what to do.. latest drivers are installed and the xbox dvr thingy is disabled..

are you using any mods or playing any of the dlc?

How old is your system?  Anything throttling in your case? (Temps too high?)

my CPU is around 2-3 years old GPU 1 year old. its not really old.. and the temps are fine.

Hmm... a 550w PSU should be plenty. Running any mods in game?

When did it start stuttering? You've got to give more details than "My game isn't working right. Help."

i dont exactly know "when" it started.. i played the game for a couple of months, stopped for a few weeks and then started again.

That could be it. I had stuttering issues once i got further into the game as new areas loaded. It turned out the hdd wasn't fast enough. Once transferring to my sdd my stuttering went away. Though I'm not sure it will fix the lowered fps. There is some software that will do it for you but i cant remember what it is called.

Check to see if your PC is running any tasks that's taking up your CPU's power. That's a big indicator.

At this point, I'm betting it's just your HDD that's not fast enough to keep up. FO4 is a 40GB game and makes that point every time it takes a full 50 seconds to load into the main open world when you leave the smallest internal room available.

ram is around 3gb. ill try to move my fallout and come back when im done
