Headphone cable

Hey guys!

 

So I got my AKG K553 Pro headphones and wanted to modify the cable so it would be more portable. I was wondering if I just bought any 3.5mm cables with android controller + mic, if it would work with my headphones? Even if the cable was meant for sennheiser? or other AKG products that was meant to have detachable cables.

AFAIK the control/microphone part terminates in the block that contains them. So they should work no matter what headset they're plugged into.

Obviously discounting proprietary BS from manufacturers.

So it doesn't matter what brand and headphones they are meant for, they will still work with mine?

I can't guarantee they'll work, so don't hold me accountable. But they should work.
