Gt 610 qs

hconverse02

I got a EVGA Gt 610 from my cousin and I know it works in my pci ex16 slot (the gpu fan spins when my computer is on), but my computer will not recognize that there is a graphics card plugged in and even turning off onboard graphics does trigger the graphics card.  Anyone know what I can do about this? Can I use this graphics card with my computer or not?

Specs:

GA-B150M-DS3H motherboard

i5 6400-T

corsair ddr4 2133 ghz ram

Logisys 480W power supply

arctic alpine 11 plus cpu cooler

2 tb sata hdd

GPU in question: EVGA gt 610

Try using the PSU Tier List!

How to reset the bios/clear the cmos

My current rig:

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x

Ram: 1x16gb DDR4, 2x8gb DDR4

Storage: 1tb nvme ssd

GPU: gtx 3080

Monitor: 23.8" Dell S2417DG 144hz g-sync 1440p + 27" Acer S271HL 60 Hz 1080p

Keyboard: ducky one I | I SF

Mouse: gpro wireless | glorious model o2 wireless

Sound : beyerdynamic 1990 pro | Monoprice liquid spark (amp) + topping d10 (dac)

I have 1 pci ex16 slot, not 2 on the motherboard, I wanted to spend more on the cpu

Just to make sure, you are in fact plugging your video into the card, not the motherboard, right?

You may have to disable the iGPU in your motherboars BIOS first, than make sure to plug your monitor cable in the GT 610 instead of the one in your motherboard.

(^doesn't want to offend you, most problems like these come from non techis and the simplest "problem" is often like that)

try this:

1) Download Driver Booster Free from iObit and Install them (You can make it PRO by learning in Youtube)

2) At first Open,It will automatically scan for Outdated Drivers

3) After Searching,It will show the Results and All you have to do is tap 'Update',Sit back and Enjoy some Coffee !

4) When you click 'Update',It will calculate the Size of those drivers,Download it all in One (As an Order)

5) Most Important thing - It also creates a System Restore Point before installing any Driver.

6) After every driver is installed,It MAY ask you to Re-start or Reboot your PC.Even though it dosn't ask to Restart your PC,I highly recommend you to Restart your PC
