Hi

After seeing Linus video about everyone is buying according to Amazon, I decided to use that as a template for my plan to buy and build my own PC.

Don't have that much experience of buying parts and building my own PC, but I wanted to start to look into parts. But I help to know if I'm thinking correct.

I was thinking to use it for gaming and video editing. I am thinking of future proofing it, so I don't have to buy new parts every year or so.

Thanks in advance for the input.

If you plan on doing overclocking your CPU very hard, I'd consider getting a better air cooler. You are using fairly high profile RAM, so it's possible you may need to make some compromises with the Hyper 212 EVO to also fit your RAM. This isn't usually a problem if you're just using two modules, as you can just use the second and fourth RAM slot rather than the first and third.

Going with RAM with LEDs? Nice. Keep it if you like the aesthetics. RAM overclocking can help CPU performance a little bit, but you will hit a point of diminished returns very quickly at 3200 MHz, and you can just get a 2400 MHz 16 GB kit for just $40 less and put the money towards something else, like an i7-6700K (if you don't mind stretching your budget just a little bit).

I'd consider getting an M.2 SSD. They use a faster interface, and thus aren't bottlenecked by SATA 6 Gbps. It'll also remove the number of cables you need. However, price is something to take into account here, if this is an issue.
