i have the k240 MK II and I'm pretty happy with them. dunno what's the real difference between the k240 and the k240 mkII

I do music production with them and some light gaming. they aren't too bass heavy and that's why I bought them. They just have the right amount of bass for me. Allthough I wouldn't recommend them if you are into any sort of electronic music.

IMHO perfectly balanced while gaming (they don't blow out your ear with every detonation or gun shot due to too heavy bass ;) )

You could also try the Phillips SHP 9500s. I head they're very good and have a great soundstage for gaming but still have enough bass that listening to music is still a joy. Mine should be coming in today so I can probably give my experiences later on.
