First attempt at PC

Hammad32

Hi! Bear with me a bit because this is my first try. Was mainly going for a budget one and upgrade it along the line. After a lot of tinkering I've come down to this

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/9HM98K

I realize that the graphic card is pretty weak, but at the moment this is all my budget allows. Feel free to recommend a different one with similar price. Another thing that annoyed me is that I'm probably spending too much on the processor. I went with this so that it does not need to be replaced soon though I'm probably missing something. So is this setup worth a try? Would you change anything? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Chose a cheaper/better CPU cooler and the build looks fine as is. Maybe you can upgrade the GPU around Christmas?

The cooler is overpriced for its performance, and you wont need much cooling for an non k build. Stick with the stock cooler and spend the money you saved on a better gpu.

Never heared of that Power Supply, i would recommend getting one with a high user rating

First off, don't use that PSU even if you got it free :P

Don't spend that much money on a CPU cooler, get better graphics instead!

try a rx470 instead of the rx460. if thats too expensive you could get a i3 6100 or a i5 6400

i would recommend 2x4gb dor dual channel performance

A study I saw over at overclockersclub.com showed that while RAM speed matters in CPU-bound games, dual channel and signle channel perform the same. Either way the gains are very little when the GPU involved is a measly 1050 Ti.

I recommend it anyway for dedicated GPU when GPU fails, for unzippin the zip files etc

From what I've gathered my processor is all right. The 1050Ti was a good shout so maybe I'll go for that. Other than that ditch the cooler and replace the PSU. Thanks for the help!

Not bad im also building my 1st PC u seem to have done better then my 1st plan but some suggestions. Cheaper and better cpu cooler (not sure if u need it as your CPU is a non-K variant but ur call). Seagate from what i know is a good brand but Western Digital or HGST make the best from the research I have done and will cost u the same. Good RAM. Great CPU. The rx 480 Gigabyte was terrible so maybe do some checking on the 460 to c if it is also bad or if it is contained to the 480s.

Honestly gj yours seems more certain then mine which has changed 3 times in the last few months

o and what another guy said do 2 4 gb ram instead of 1 stick

Good to know it's looking nice. Although not gonna lie I spent a good long month to get this far :P From what I've read in reviews the 460 is a good starter/budget card and can get decent frames at 1080p (which is what I'm going for for now) Although from these suggestions I might switch to a 1050Ti. Can never go wrong with more Vram and the price is similar too

Look at here for the PSU. You need maybe max. 400 Watt.

Dont  go for dual Channel. It doesnt give u noticable performance but u can upgrade later on without having to buy a whole new kit, if u go for a single stick.
