USB not charging S3...

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

Asus Maximus V formula

You have an Asus MB? Try out Ai charger  it "over clocks" your USB controller to deliver more Voltage when a Phone/Tablet ist detected. Maybe your S3 needs more Voltage as a normal USB port would deliver.

But it should come within AiSuite wich is included with your Motherboard...

As it is  ASUS Software you can´t break anything by running it on an ASUS MB/they are made for that.

I am using Ai Charger on my ASUS sabertooth 990fx rev.2 to charge my iPad. With the normal Voltage it does not charge on a PC.

Even my iPhone charges much faster with Ai Charger!

Here you have an explaining/test of the Software

I hope this can help you...

Anyway everyone who charges his/her phone/tablet with a PC should use this!

My desktop has recently stopped charging my s3 in any USB port. What's going on with it? It charges my old phone just fine... Something with the drivers keeping the PC from powering it?

if you need any other info, just ask.

Just thought I'd add this screenshot, as you can see, when plugged into the pc, the power useage jumps. I'm suspecting that my case is wired USB2/3 wrong...

NOTE: Boinc is disabled on my phone, just the persistent notification up there.

A quick way to test that one is to plug the USB cable into one of the rear USB ports.

Another thing can be that some guys disables USB charging while there's a data connection going on... Do you have something like a WD MyPassport or other disk that relies on USB power to function? That way you can at least test that your USB ports deliver enough current
