Cable mod question

GeorgeKellow

I have a EVGA GS 550W PSU and i want some custom cables.

I want these https://eustore.cablemod.com/product/cablemod-e-series-g2-p2-basic-cable-kit-black-red/  These are in the 'E' series. The same as my psu but it says it doesn't support the GS?

If I do use them for my psu will it not power up or? Seems to me like cable mod doesn't really support my psu for the cables that I want, I don't want to use the custom config if I don't have too!

These are not compatible with your PSU. Most likely different connectors. I wouldn't suggest trying, might kill your system.

These however are compatible with your PSU - https://store.cablemod.com/products/?filter_series=e-series&filter_models=gs-ps-550-650

EDIT: Apparently EU store does not offer them, but the global one does. These also ship to EU, so no worries there. Might be at different rate though.

The thing with EVGA is that they don't have a set standard of their own for their cables. So if a series is based on a different platform from another OEM, then chances are, it will not be compatible. EVGA has Super Flower (B2, G2, P2, T2, as well as the new G2L which has a completely different connector as well) Seasonic (GS, PS), FSP (750B1, G1, GQ), HEC (BQ). Meaning there's likely five different set of cables.

You need to find the proper one for your particular unit.
