I have a little problem in gta V where after a minute of playing, i get huge stuttering and frame drops that make the game unplayable.

Yes i have a graphical mod called intensity enb, but when i turn it off, the problem persists.

Settings are on max and some on high

No msaa, only fxaa

Drivers are up to date

currently trying if disabling mfaa helps

Arleady tried:

  updating drivers

  turning vsync on

  setting game priority to high

Specs:

GPU: GTX 960 4gb windforce 2 oc

CPU: i5 4690K stock clocks due to motherboard

Mobo: asus b85m-e

RAM: Hyper x furry 8gb 1600mhz

Thanks in advance

Here's a guide that helped me with the settings: http://www.gamersnexus.net/game-bench/1909-gta-v-graphics-optimization-guide

Btw, your GPU doesn't seem optimal for max/high settings, try lower down the settings tagged in the guide with "critical", "severe" and "high".

i suspect it actually has.

When i connect my controller initally it freezes the game for a few seconds. After that it will freeze every so often here and there for a few seconds.

BUT when a controller isnt plugged in im not having any freezes, i urge you to try this.

Apart for you PSU, everything seems fine, so I'd say do what @HydraGaming said.

I recorded a freeze with MSI afterburner.

There is no bottleneck, when the freeze kicks in frames drop to 0 with CPU and GPU usage going down to 20-30% and ~2% respectively. Prior to the freeze there are no signs of bottlenecking, CPU usage fluctates between 50-90% with GPU usage at 98%. RAM usage and clock speeds are unaffected by the freeze. This leads me to believe its a glitch with the game rather than a performance issue caused by someone's rig.

The freeze seems to occur at random without the need of a CPU demanding scenario, last recorded CPU load before freeze was 79%.

i already done it via optimization video and it was running fine for some time. some settings are lower than geforce experience suggests
