Hello Hello,

I have a quick question for anyone who may know the answer to.  I just purchased myself a MSI GT80S Titan SLI-275 and I know it is coming with 16gb of ram but I want to upgrade to at least 32gb so basically I am wonderror 1) what is it upgradeable to? 32gb or 64gb? 2) it says it is DDR4 RAM, does it use regular ol DDR4? And 3) how many slots are there on this model? I tried to Google it but can't find a definitive answer on it. If you could shoot me a link to some affordable buy quality options that would rock too!

Thanks,

Rich

Unless you are actually experiencing a memory bottleneck due to a low amount of RAM (which you will noticed if it happens), I would suggest saving your money.

The MSI GT80S has four SODIMM slots (two on the bottom and two above the area of the keyboard) that can be expanded to 64GB DDR4.

I haven't actually used the laptop yet but I can pretty guarantee I would benefit from the added RAM, when I am doing school work or when I am working,  I push RAM pretty hard, I will definitely try it before I upgrade though, but I still wanted to ask that way I know my options.  When I am working on projects though I am usually running CAD, Photoshop and Illustrator all at one time and usually there is a fair amount of CAD rendering going on while I am doing all that. Don't get me wrong,  I hope I am wrong and that the 16gb will be good enough, but still not a bad idea to have knowledge about expanding just in case.

Thanks for the response,

Rich
