Hello there !

I'm setting up my first pc Build(still hooked to mom and dad so no more than 450€)
I'm living on an island,so it's a nightmare to get parts and component other than with sellers(and their price are higher than normal of course, i d'ont need any peripherals and already have an hard-drive with windows 10)
i have to choose between two builds  the first one is,i think, more about future proofing while still keeping low cost:
Intel Core i3 6100 (3.7 GHz) (130€)
Cooler Master K280 (i have no other choice)
Smartteck ST-BX350 - 350W 80Plus Bronze (still no other choice)
HyperX Fury Noir 8 Go (2x 4Go) DDR4 2133 MHz CL14 (i can just buy 4 gigs for less but... future proofing)
ASUS Z170-P(130€) (for future proofing and overclocking later)
The whole would cost me 430€

The other build:
Same case,power supply and Ram
Gigabyte GA-H110M-DS2  (69€)

Intel Core i5 6400 (2.7 GHz) (200€)
(the whole for 449€)

The problem is,i don't know wherether i should go with one or another,i d'ont plan on Heavy gaming so no Gpu for now,i will be moving to Quebec next year, where price would be more reasonable.(this i3 and i5 are also the only model i can have right now and i can't wait, the reasons would be too long to explain)

And i would like to know if the +70€ for an i5 is actually worth it
Thanks for any reply :)

i say the i5 is definitely worth it. since the i5 have 4 physical cores and the i3 has 2 cores, it will effect performance plus the i5 gets rid of possible bottlenecks (not all but more), i am using both the same processor and mobo as well

But doesn't the I3 has Hyperthreading and "pretend" to have 4cores ? Is having physical cores better than logical ?
(so the i3 + Z type mobo is pretty much a joke on future proofing :/ )

i3+z mobo, not really a good idea. i am pretty sure physical cores are much better. if you are going with a z mobo go with the i5-6600k or the i7-6700k but they cost way more, and the z board is mostly used for overclocking

No graphics card? I assume you won't be using this for gaming, what will you be using it for? If your just browsing and other not demanding tasks just get the i3

Not for now,i will play some "not gpu demanding" games such as KSP or cities skyline on medium to low settings thought
I'll use it for browsing and content creation (image manipulation) and will run engineering programs(stress simulation)

yep just go with the i5 i am pretty sure it has better onboard graphics that could last you longer without a gpu

The higher clock rate of the i3-6100 means it would actually be better for most non-gaming and light-gaming tasks.

As far as future proofing goes, I suggest you get the i3-6100 and the Gigabyte H110 motherboard (and 2x 4Gigs of RAM).

When it comes time to upgrade it's easier to sell a CPU + motherboard than just the CPU alone. By the time you move to Quebec, you may be wanting an AMD Zen CPU, which would require a new motherboard as well

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

i5-6600, 16Gigs, ITX Corsair 250D, R9 390, 120Gig M.2 boot, 500Gig SATA SSD, no HDD

i don't think i will be selling component,it's not my thing but as i've seen other people's reply, going i5 for now is better and i would like to get every bit of performance i can with those 450€

In that case, try to squeeze out an i5-6500 - the clock bump over the i5-6400 is worth it.

as said above,i can't,it's a service on the island where you choose parts and they take long to come if you buy something not "in stock" and i need a pc for a project at school
