did you correctly orient the connectors which connect the front panel header to the MOBO? (Power SW, HDD LED...)

Did you plug in the front panel power switch correctly? positive and negatives etc

I think so, it was a bit confusing, but I followed the manual and have it in the orientation I believe it wanted them to be

the positive and negatives on power and reset dont matter. i can take a random piece of metal and short them and the pc will turn on or restart.

The 24 pin wasn't in all the way...now it won't turn off. Also the CPU cooler isn't on

Is your CPU fan connector plugged into the correct spot? The connection is always listed on the board, and is always near it. Are you getting any error codes?
