GPU Problems

I seem to be having some GPU problems and Iv come for some expert advice.

My question is when ever I  try to boot in windows the gpu acts up and does not fully boot into windows just turns the screen black but when I boot into windows in safe mode it works. Im just wondering is it a driver issues/software problem or is the gpu bust. Its a Amd 6870, Im also running windows 10.

try removing the graphics card and using the built-in graphics and see what happens

0. Try using different output ports

1. Reseat the gpu 

2. Change to a different pcie slot

3. Reroll drivers to a lower version

4. Check the PSU last since you have a normal boot to safe mode PSU is least likely

If all fails the card maybe dead. Try testing teh card on a different system.

I can boot into windows just fine with the dedicated graphics.

Could the PCI lot be defected.

Yea man so if reseating the sucker doesn't work change pcie slots

OK tried all of the above and no luck. Would I be wrong in thinking since it works in safe mod it must be a driver issue? Windows 10 maybe?

No, i my previous gtx770 died and i was still able to get into safe mode. Try rerolling to a previous version driver now. If it still doesn't work I'm 80% sure its dead
