First time builder?!?! Maybe try something easier. I've built multiple PC's and I still wouldn't even attempt to build that. But anyways if you still want to progress forward...

  1. CPU mobo combo should work fine together
  2. The cooler will be an absolute pain to find, I could only find heatsinks from my end.
  3. The RAM compatible is DDR2
  4. Case....its meant to be some custom rack case so you might need to mod the hell out of a full tower E-ATX case.

So as I mentioned above, it's super difficult and personally, I would go for something newer and something with standard sizes.

Currently looking at building a budget used xeon gaming machine, and not sure what exact parts to go with and wanting feedback. At the moment looking at

for the processor

for the motherboard

I'm not sure what types of ram I will need and am concerned with compatibility. I'm not sure what size of case if any can fit the motherboard and wanting feedback on that as well. Also not sure what cpu heatstink/fan to get.

Reasoning behind building a gaming rig from used server parts. I'm a first time computer builder and essentially want a not amazing but decent enough gaming computer to build for my girl friend and also cheap enough parts where if anything is broken I don't have to worry too much as a first time builder.
