P400/S CPU Cooler Support

I want to fit a Cryorig H5 Ultimate into one of these cases without having to block a ram slot. Anyone have the P400 or P400S and could tell me what the real CPU cooler height is? The Phanteks manual says 160mm, but Tom's Hardware says it's 170mm.

well since the phanteks website says 160mm then its 160mm, take it from the manuafacturer

*sigh* You're telling me what I already know. My cooler does support 160mm. I just want to know if I have to use 160mm.

well the h5 appears to be 160-168mm(adjustable fan) so you can buy it and the top the fins are fine, if you find the ram is blocks assuming your fan is facing the ram, rotate it 180 degrees so it the fan face the io of the motherboard, then it doesn't block any ram?

i may have confused my self, what about you install it fan facing ram(i assume then the cooler fin stack physically doest not interfere with the ram, and position the fan on the opposite side,(My only reference is what is on the cryorig website for the cooler.

Hmm..

That might work. The only thing on the other side is a metal block, probably for heat dissipation. It's only 27mm. My only concern is... Is the give fin design meant to be used both ways?

well it has mounting for both from what i gather from the images i can see, i guess it can, (i think youll have to set fans up for rear intake, although not sure?

the block is fine i assume its 30mm space on each side(according to dimensions on cryorig website)

And that would mean... I would be be drawing air through... Sucking air through the fins might inefficient. Don't want to mess up my airflow.

i think it should be fine, its a high airflow fan and it is doing the same job as it would have to pull air through the fins rather than push, and it appears the fan can be enables to push or pull air through assuming the the clips are symmetrical

good luck, where the metal connector is i assume you can take it off the fan and re attach it to the other side so it pulls air through the cooler.

Did you have any luck installing the H5 in your P400? I have the P400 myself and currently have the Scythe Mugen 5 which is only 155mm and it barely looks like there would be enough room for an extra 5mm to spare with that 160mm limit.

Yeah I did actually. It's less than a mm from the clear panel but yeah... it fits.
