New GPU Questions & Another Question

Hello!

 

So I was reading the specs of the 1050Ti on nvidia's website, and I compared them to the specs of the 950 (which I currently have).  I saw that there were many similarities.  I then looked at the 1060's specs.  I already knew that the 1060 was great for the cost of it.  When I saw that neither the 1050Ti, 1050, 1060 3GB, or 1060 6GB supported SLI, I was really confused.  Both the 950 and 960 supported SLI, so why don't these?  Anyway, that's not the real reason this thread was made.

 

Which card, the 1060 6GB, 1060 3GB, or the 1050Ti, is a better deal at 1080p, 144Hz, and 1ms.  I don't play very graphics-intensive games, but nonetheless, I would still like which one is the best value.

 

This isn't really on the topic, but how should I convince my parents to let me get whichever one of those cards is a better value.  A little about them.  My dad LOVES deals.  Unfortunately, they both think that I have absolutely no use for a new ANYTHING, since my PC is so "new".  They also think that there is no point in buying a new anything because, "You're only going to be spending an hour a day on that thing."  They put a time limit on it, just like every other electronic device I have, but they don't know I can get around it.  

 

Should I explain to them that (whichever card gives the best value) is a better value than my current GPU?  But then again, they'll say '"You only have an hour on the PC, so why do you want it?"  Should I do something to my GPU that makes it look like it's not working?

They don't support SLI because nvidia wanted them to be like that. I think it's useless to have SLI on low-medium end cards. And for your requirements best deal is 1060 6GB. You will be good with it for long time

They have taken the SLI fingers off the low end cards because they don't want people to SLI them. for one, it is more cost effective for both parties to just get a stronger single card.Also if you have your tinfoil hats on, its also because in alot of games, 1060 SLI would beat out a gtx 1080 for a much lower cost and they don't want to compete with themselves.

 

 

1060 6GB is the card you want if you're going to try to hit 144hz (you will probably still have to turn some settings down from ultra in order to reach this framerates. However if you're interested in doing SLI, perhaps consider going with an RX480 as that card can still crossfire no problem, and can do so on lower level chipsets (SLI requires a Z/X series board, assuming you have intel CPU)

I agree, the 1060 6GB has the best "frame rate per dollar". Also, tell em this cars will last you a while, that's the biggest deal for them from what I've seen.
