I am building a pc I booted it up once all fans spun I got a error about GPU but I fixed that real quick (Reseated it) and I just booted it again I think i moved the CMOS jumper btw my mobo is Intel DH55TC I know it cant be cpu otherwise no fans would spin cant be gpu because the fans spun and I could see the HDMI input on my TV so only thing could be CMOS or i shocked my mobo but I was testing my pc out of a case on a glass table so like that happened and when I turned it on a on light turned on but no beeps. please help!

Dead CPU won't stop the fans running, CMOS jumper in the wrong place will short out the boards 5v rail (or possibly 3.3, not too sure) though. That will cause more than a few issues.

on my mobo it would atleast stop the on light from well being on and no pins are broke on my mobo but my cpu is used AND it booted the first time + my mobo still shows the activity light and fans still on so no it didnt short

If the CMOS power circuitry is supplied through a resistive or inductive element, that will limit current, but it can still be a short circuit at the CMOS end. I'd reset it to defaults and also make 400% sure that it's back where it should be for normal operation.

I did but for safety im not booting up till I get my case when I get my case THEN I can start using cause I have everything else btw Im 100% sure that all power headers are pluged in correctly and can you search up a manual or something to backup your theorys? MOBO: Intel DH55TC manual http://downloadmirror.intel.com/18505/eng/dh55tc_productguide01_english.pdf but its way to long

I doubt Intel would put the required data in a manual ;)

 

Personally if I was designing a mainboard, I'd put a resistor in series with the CMOS supply so that if the shorting jumper is used with the machine powered, it won't cause any damage. That's extra cost though, big companies don't like spending pennies extra to make something more robust, especially if the user needs to buy the same board from them if they blow one up with a simple mistake (which I have done a couple of times, luckily with no magic smoke being released).

well my fans are still working and lights still work so I guess my mobos not dead? plz i hope so

PC hardware is pretty robust. My graphics card has twice had capacitors fail and short out my 5v power rail on 2 different mainboards. IF it was just a jumper mis-placed, I doubt any damage has been caused.
