Posted October 21, 2016 Hi, people I got a new HP 250 g4 laptop and I am trying to install Windows 7. I am getting a missing drivers error even though I sslipstreamed USB 3.0 and ahci drivers found on Hp's and Intel websites. I'm working abroad and my internet connection is very limited. I tried some bug fixes I found online (changing USB port, clearing gpt, some bios tweaks) but nothing worked.
 Posted October 21, 2016 Author Why? Is there anything wrong with the way I created a topic? Is it in the wrong section? I am on public WiFi on my phone. I wasn't able to find any helpful info that works before I asked.
Posted October 21, 2016 This is the non-Windows section of the forum, there is a Windows section specifically for that. For obvious reasons you will have a hard time finding answers here
Posted October 22, 2016 Author Wow, damn touchscreen. I must have misclicked the topic. Is it possible for a mod to move it?
Posted October 22, 2016 it made me laugh finding this on the non-windows section. My experience with laptops when vista and 8 came out was: If your specific model did not ship in multiple operating systems you will have a very hard time getting appropriate drivers. i.e. A laptop made for windows 10 that did not also have alternate shipments running windows 7 will not have drivers for windows 7 as the hardware outdates the operating system. Its not all doom & gloom but it is a pain in the arse. You need to make a list of the chipsets of the hardware that are not working under windows 7 and search high and low for alternatives. good luck. i would just use the OS the laptop shipped with and virtualise windows 7 ☼ ψ ︿_____︿_ψ_
 Posted October 23, 2016 Author I just installed windows 7 from a SD card. Not sure why USB drivers that were slipstreamed didn't work, but the problem is finally solved
