oh lololol myb. totally misread OP... thought he was saying turned off haha.

well if hes running windows it could be the computer turning itself on to check for updates.

Could it be?
I mean if the computer will turned itself on just to check on updates then..then its pretty annoying.
Imagine if its turned on at 3 am and ur mom think u are still awake.

I don't know about you, but my computer doesn't exactly make a ton of noise when it turns itself on (a beep or two). Some people consider it annoying and turn it off, but by default its on (so far as I'm aware). Its certainly preferable for my computer to update on its own at 4AM rather than update in the evening when I'm in the middle of trying to pwn teh nubz.

And i'm not even sure that is the problem, but its the sort of thing that can happen if hes not aware its supposed to be happening (its a setting you can turn off)

As for the OP.
I am not a PSU expert. But i think its the problem with Power On Signal. Though it could be anything.
Sometimes when u plug the power cord to the psu even if u didnt push the power button the pc will turned on.

and sometimes when i set my computer to sleep. and i turn on the light on my room.
The pc is turned on.

also it can be a short on the power on switch, etc
Just set your bios settings to default.
Check the power cord ( the one u plugged it to the wall and ur psu ) make sure they tight enough.
And check ur ATX power cable too.

If that didnt work.
U may need to change the PSU. or check it with a tester on the green wires.

could it be the fast startup? it never shutdown by itself. But every other night, around 9:15, it will startup. i do power cfg -lastwake, and it doesn't say anything
