ARK storage problem

well i had something like 10GB on my little 240gb SSD left and the problem is that i looked on steam and it was like 500MB but as soon as i started to download my storage went from 10GB to something like 300KB then i restartet my pc looked for a virus found only some cookies nothing more but i had after the restart 5GB left so i started the download again and of course the same thing did it again looking for a virus deleted 2 games that gave me 5gb back and i restarted again the pc and tryed to download then i was almost done all i need is 0.7mb and i got 200 mb left on my storage and i just can not download it i need some help because i do not understand this

ARK? You mean ARK: Survival Evolved? That takes a lot more than 500MB of space.

well i already got the game it is just a update

Oh, right. Yeah I think the game updates by practically reinstalling the whole thing, so it takes a stupid amount of space. Maybe you could try uninstalling it in Steam and then installing again.
