Mozilla Firefox runs really slow. As I'm typing now, there is a 1-2 second delay when inputting. Also, when i try to switch tabs, it takes about 5 seconds. My PC has an i7-6700k and gtx 1070 Strix. The CPU usage for firefox on the task manager is 15%

Please help

EDIT: Also, I have 32gb of ddr4 ram

Are you experiencing any other delays/problems on other internet programs? (Steam, av software...)

If so, maybe something on your pc is doing a background update/download.

However it doesn't seem like the problem.

What version of Firefox are you currently using? I believe the newest one is 49.0.1, check that and download the latest version.

Also, you might have some browser extensions that are slowing you down, try disabling all of them, and then activating them back one by one to see which one(s) is(are) causing trouble.

Also remember to check Firefox configurations, and activate "hardware accerelation" if you haven't yet!

If nothing works, try uninstalling and then installing again.

1. Answering your first question, no

2. Can't check since Mozilla is being stupidly slow but as I just downloaded it in the last two weeks or so, I think it's the newest

3. I'm using all of the new beta Firefox extensions "Test Pilot" they call it

4. Its on

I concluded that Mozilla was the one slow. I removed some extensions and now it runs perfectly

Told you, some extensions are very resource-hungry and can easily take over the amount of computing power your pc lends to Firefox.

If you really needed those extensions, try looking for their lightweight version, chances are someone has made a very similar extensions that consumes way less resources (though it'll probably have some less extra features).

Haha yes thanks. I didn't really use that extension anyway

It's not an issue with Firefox. It's an issue with how intensive the extensions can get, and that starts to interfere with the browser, perhaps because it needs to wait for the extension when completing operations.
