Artifacts

Hey,

 

I have a nvidia gtx 970

I've been trying to overclock my GPU, using MSI afterburner, and I can easily set it to +200/+500 if I want, without Heaven benchmark crashing, but I think I'm seeing some artifacts, but I don't really know how to tell if they are indeed artifacts, I've seen some small blue lines and sometimes black blocks, but they generally happen very fast and I'm not sure

 

Should artifacts be something I can easily spot, or should they be something I carefully look for?

 

Also, how much is a regular 900 series GPU overclock? should I be getting higher numbers or smaller numbers or are these fine?

What you have described are artifacts. Turn up core voltage till they vanish, or if you can't get them to vanish with a higher core voltage reduce your OC as your GPU isn't capable of the overclock.

I got an example for you to see, I ran this at +200/+350, see the blue thing on the boat on the second picture? this is what im talking about, its an artifact right?

Had the same thing on my 980Ti G1 It got worse little by little and them my drivers stop working with the card so basically the card worked only without drivers I sent it to RMA my advice RMA it

The card is not broken, this only happens when i overclock It (aparently) too much, when running at stock or with some lower OC, this doesn t happen
