Computer has Random Shut-Offs

Go to solution Solved by jools,

control panel/ power options/ never never

So recently, as in like the past week, my Computer has had random shut-offs. They are usually few and far between, mostly happening when I go to bed and forget to shut down, but they have become more frequent. Not to extent that it is an immediate issue, as in I can't use my PC without it shutting off, but it is an inconvenience and I'd like to fix it before it gets too bad.

Now, I already checked Heating, not extensively, but my CPU and Motherboard were at 43 degrees Celsius/109 degrees Fahrenheit, Not good! I may have had Xbox game cases sitting on the top which were effectively plugging vents. I removed the cases and cranked up my Air Conditioner and now I get a cool 27 degrees Celsius/80 degrees Fahrenheit. I am posting this at 2 in the morning so I will explore power issues more in the morning, like the Power Supply and Surge Protectors.

I pray to God it's not a Hardware issue! My PC is over $2000 and I can't afford a Hardware Failure, though I am insured if it comes to that. I will admit that my HDD LED has been blinking for sometime, but that couldn't cause my Computer to shut itself off, could it?

I have scanned my Computer many times for Viruses and nothing. I have AVG.

I will provide more information when prompted.

Check event viewer and see if there are any fatal errors.

Cpu temps are fine, anywhere from 30-50c is great 50-80c is hot but manageable and above 80c is sketch

Specs? how old is the system? and 43C is still a good temp.

Do you have sleeved extensions? (i had this happened to me recently I purchased some extensions off ebay and when i was gaming it didn't allow enough power to the system at times so it would randomly shut off. I took me months to resolve  the issue.)

It's saying Kernel Power is an issue. I looked this up, and it appears to be a possible Windows 10 issue. The Never/Never option may have been the appropriate solution to my issue! Thanks a lot guys! This is actually my first Rig and I was freaking out hoping stuff was not damaged or defective in any way. lol
