Question about rules for an Admin.

On the "Communty Standards" thread it says

 

"No advertising of any non LTT/LMG material

• eBay/trading sites
• Referral links
• Personal websites or businesses
• Twitch/YouTube links are only allowed in user profile status updates"

 

My question is about YouTube links. What about tech videos and/or more specifically Linus Media Group videos? Just looking for clarification.

 

P.S. The only rule on my teamspeak is "Don't be a dick". Words to live by.

as long as your not doing to advertise and make money, its fine.

Basically, don't share links that could be considered advertising. I link to videos, websites, and non-LTT forum posts all the time.

However, I'm doing it in the context of that particular forum thread, usually to answer someone's questions about something.

 

For instance, I would consider "Hey guys, check out my website http://website.com" to be advertising, and thus not allowed.

But I'd consider posting "Can anyone help me with a JavaScript problem on my http://website.com" in the Programming Forum fair game, since you're keeping to the topic of that forum, and asking for help with your site, not just promoting it.
