So I just ordered myself a new Tt Core V21. I've worked with one before on my fiance's pc and I know it's totally possibly to mount the motherboard hanging upside down... I'm packing the thing full of fans so I don't think the heat rise is going to be that big of an issue. I'm just wondering if the motherboard can support the weight of the GPU and CPU cooler. I wanted to go this route because i think it's kind of a novel idea.

I'd find a way to tie the open end (the one that usually sticks out of the case) down to the mobo. The other side is held in by the PCIe slot clip. The nicest way to do it would be to build a bracket and screw it down to whatever you're mounting the Mobo to. The easy way to do it is to grab some string and tie it to whatever you're mounting your mobo to.

Alternatively, use a PCIe extender (same thing Linus used on his most recent "desk build") Actually I'm pretty sure he used it on ALL of the desk builds.

Under desk installation? Lots of reasons. Stop being unhelpful.

Heatsink? Yes, because the heatsinks are basically bolted on to the motherboard. GPU? Not really, you'll need something to secure it otherwise it may wiggle out.

Depends on how heavy the GPU is, and I'm assuming this is not in a case correct?

Edit: I believe Linus actually had a couple builds that the mobo was upside down so it should work

It is in a case. It's the Thermaltake Core v21. You can fit any of the panels on any side, including the bottom.

My mistake, I think you will be fine, will you be using a water cooler? You should also consider where to place everything and most importantly the fans.

are you simply rotating the case so the TOP is going to be facing the floor?
depending on how youre executing this we can let you know if you need to install a DIY brace or support brackets for heavy components

Exactly. I've got a gigabyte r9 390 g1 GPU and a CM tx3 CPU cooler. Si I don't think it'll be too terribly heavy...

No water cooling. And I think I'll touch all the extra wires up into the area that would normally be the basement. (Is it an attic now?
