Hello

Im new here and a fan of LinusTechTips youtube channel.

Anyway i have just bought an Asus matrix ROG Gtx 980 Ti to upgrade from a Gtx 660. My problem though is with installing drivers. I also installed a new samsund 750 evo ssd and put a fresh install on windows 7 Ultimate x64. The os has veen fully updated and all other drivers are installed.

So back to the issue, i installed the driver that came with card. When it loads to the windows logo, the screen becomes covered in black and white lines and it hangs there for a while, then it loses signal to the monitor. I have two screens (although im only using one for the moment) one is connected with a vga cable connected to a vga-dvi adapter and the other is hdmi. I have tried both monitors on their own and have the same issue each time.

I have rolled back the driver to the standard vga driver and tried all others from nvidias geforce website. Each time the same thing happens and i have to roll back again.

Please help, i have been trying to sort this out for the last 36hrs and im at my wits end...

specs:

AMD fx8350 BE 4.01Ghz (not oc'd)

32gb DDR3 12800H

Crosshair V formula-z ROG mobo

Asus Matrix ROG GTX 980Ti

samsung 750 evo ssd.

Thank you in advance.

It may be due to a faulty cable, try chaning the cable.

i have changed the cable from 2 6+2 connectors to 2 8 pin connectors. It requires two connections from the psu i guess i should of mentioned that i have a corsair RM1000 psu installed.
