What are your guys' thoughts on cable mods products vs sleeving cables yourself? Is either method cheaper by a whole lot? Which way is more customizable and so on and so forth. Anyone that is on the side of custom sleeving can you link websites for the products needed to do so and or companies to look into I haven't looked into either a whole lot because I haven't needed a new PSU therefore not needing to worry about cables or anything like that but with the need of a second computer in my home I need a second PSU giving me a reason to spend some money on nice looking color coordination colors.

Unless your going to sleeve a lot of cables for many systems it wouldn't be worth the cost to buy to buy the tooling for sleeving to do everything yourself, not to mention to time it would take. In general many custom sleeving places nowadays can let you fully customize cables including Cable Mods using their configuator, some good places to get just raw materials would be Mainframe customs, and IceModz.

What tools are needed I just don't like the exact colors that  cable mod has I planned on getting white sleeving and spray painting them the exact color that i want.

For tools you would need a few things, mainly the pin removal tools, crimpers wire strippers and such to get started. I highly would not recommend to paint the sleeve it will flake off and make a big mess when the cable flexes. You would be better off looking for a custom cable sleever like Icemodz and pick and choose from their line of sleeving materials/colors.

I would say it's mostly about what you like (as a look). Our custom hand made extensions isn't that much more expensive than the cablemods custom factory made extensions.

Attached I have uploaded a photo that IceModz took to show the difference in look. On the left, MDPC-x. In the middle, PET sleeving and on the right Cablemod.

It's 100% what look you prefer

our ModMesh Sleeve is atleast as good as MDPC - it is Nylon/PET based as well - you can see a nice picture of it here:

our Configurator gives you both a Paracord (ModFlex) and Nylon/PET (ModMesh) option - it makes it very easy to customize your cables and is way cheaper than other market players - check here for more info and let me know if you got any question: https://store.cablemod.com/configurator/
