Hi, I've been looking at this mic:

I have looked at a few reviews and such, and I can't work out if I need phantom power or not. I don't know much about it. I just want a mic I can plug in and use.

I hear you can use a USB to 3.5mm adaptor and that provides enough power. Is this true?

I can almost guarantee that mic will need Phantom power to sound right.

If you're going to use USB, just grab a Yeti or something.  If you want to get a mixer, then you're looking in the right direction.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Just so you know, that mic is probably terrible... are you sure you want that one?  Have you looked into it enough to know?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

No, you can't use a 3.5mm to USB adapter. It needs phantom power.

You can get a phantom power injector which runs off of a battery (Normally 9v) or an audio interface which is powered by USB and supplies 48v.

A picture shows it going through a 3.5mm jack, and this doesn't supply 48v phantom power (Unless you buy a dodgy XLR - 3.5mm adaptor and try plugging something into a desk with phantom power on. A lot of iPhones like this). You may get something, but it would be really quiet, and sound muffled.

From the price I would have thought it was rubbish, but reviews are

I recommend the Behringer C-1 if you want a cheap, but good condenser mic. It costs more, but is worth it. If you want something that works directly with your computer, the Behringer C-1U is USB.

The Blue Yeti (USB) and Yeti Pro (XLR) are also good.
