What camera should I get?

So I am starting to look into them....I will not buy anything till mid-late next year :( And I know that a lot will change but I would like to start looking :)

So I would like to spend no more then $600 and I will need it to come with a kit lens....Then I will upgrade at some point :)

So I need to (Well I do not need any of this....I want lol)  To do some video stuff with it (well who am I kidding I will do a ton of video) And I will take a lot of stills to :) So it needs to be a good all around camera.....I am open to any brand at this point!!

I'd say go with a 600D (not sure what the rebel name is, t3i?)
Amazing video quality, the flippy screen is super handy and the 18-55 isn't to bad for a kit lens.
Also if you get a little experienced and want to get everything out of the camera, you could install MagicLantern on it.

B&H and Amazon both sell it for $599, don't know if it's cheaper somewhere else.

The Nikon D3200 and T3i would both be great cameras to get. It really depends on what you like in terms of comfort and controls. Another thing that I like to factor in is what your friends shoot, because then you can share lenses.

I personally prefered Nikon's handling and luckily I know a few different Nikon shooters who both let me borrow lenses if I need them.

Remember, the more important thing is the 12" behind the camera, not the camera itself.

If you are doing a lot of video, I would recommend getting a mirrorless camera or DSLR with a tilt screen. You will not understand how useful it is till you use it and saves you in situation where shots are difficult to get. By "mid-late next year" there may be newer models on sale, so just keep yourself updated on the latest trends.
